Marie Nickle practices family law exclusively. While her practice includes court representation and arbitration services, she primarily assists her clients to resolve disputes in alternate ways, including negotiation, mediation and collaborative process. These alternate methods of resolving disputes are less stressful for the parties, often less costly, and more expedient than a court process. Her services also include legal coaching for clients which is a new and alternate way lawyers can assist clients in a more cost effective way, together with unbundled legal services, meaning that clients can obtain legal services on an "as you go" basis, and tailored particularly to a client's needs.

Ms. Nickle was called to the Ontario Bar in 1994. She initially practiced law with the law firm Dickson Sachs Appell & Beaman (now Dickson Appell Lawyers) in Toronto. She has a Masters Degree in Law from Osgoode Hall Law School in the area of Alternate Dispute Resolution and Negotiation. From 1999 to 2005, she was a panel lawyer for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer. She is a Dispute Resolution Officer with the Superior Court of Justice in Brampton and Milton, and a Roster Mediator with Peel Family Mediation Services. She is a regular presenter at on and off-site Family Law Information Sessions.
